2017 is going to be the year of Nokia. Nokia has finally decided to launch smartphones with Android as their operating system. People are eagerly waiting for Nokia devices. There are rumours about many Nokia devices like Nokia 8, Nokia E1 and the latest being Nokia C9. In this post, we will discuss Nokia C9.
Design and display:
Nokia C9 will come in three colours of black, gray and white. The exact dimensions of the device are not known yet but it will have a 5-inch display that is roughly around 12.7 cm. Nokia C9 will have a Full High Definition display with the screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels.Nokia C9 has a great pixel density of 441 PPI and will feature an IPS LCD display. Nokia C9 will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass v4 screen protection which is not the latest one in the market.
About the physical appearance, Nokia C9 is expected to have front branding. There will be a Nokia logo on the front side above the display. There is also a 5 MP front camera above the display. There are three capacitive keys on this device. Nokia C9 lacks a fingerprint sensor. The power button and volume button lie on the right side with power button below the volume button. The back cover of the phone is non-removable. There is a 16MP primary camera at the back of the device. Nokia C9 comes with a 4000 mAH battery. It will support 3.5mm jack and use micro USB 2.0 port.
Nokia C 9 will use Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 MSM8996 chipset and have octa core processor. We don’t yet at what speed will it run. It is expected to have 3 GB of RAM.
Nokia is known for its great camera quality. People are expecting a lot from Nokie phones. Nokia C 9 is expected to have a 16 MP primary camera at the back of the device. It will use Dual color LED flash instead of simple LED flash. Nokia C9 will most probably lack Optical Image Stabilization and phase detection autofocus. The maximum image resolution of Nokia C9 is 4616 x 3464 Pixels. Also, it has the usual camera features like Auto Flash, Simultaneous HD video and image recording, HDR, Touch to focus.
The front camera of Nokia C9 lacks front LED flash, but comes with a 5 Mp front camera for selfies.
Nokia C9 will not run on Android Nougt (7.0) out of the box, but will feature Android Marshmallow (6.0). It will also have its own custom UI on the top.
Nokia C9 has an internal memory of 32 GB which can be expanded up to 128 GB via an external card. The external card slot is most probably a dedicated slot.
As per the leaked specifications, the battery is really good in this device. Nokia C9 uses a 4000 mAh battery which is of Li-polymer type. Like the majority of the devices these days, the battery is non-removable. The leaked specifications don’t have any information on quick or fast charging in this device.
Nokia C9 is a dual SIM device which uses micro SIM cards and supports 4G in only one slot. It is not VOLTE enabled. The second slot only supports 2G. Nokia C 9 supports TD-LTE 2300(band 40)
FD-LTE 1800(band 3) 4G bands and has the latest Wifi configuration of Wi-Fi 802.11, a/ac/b/g/n/. Nokia C9 will use the Bluetooth version 4. Nokia 8 will also have a 3.5 mm jack and has not decided to go away with 3.5 mm jack yet. It will also use Dolby Atmos sound enhancement. Nokia C9 also has usual sensors like Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, and Gyroscope. Nokia C9 will feature FM radio.
The price of Nokia C 9 is not known yet but it is expected to launch in March 2017.
The leaked specifications look good as such, but the actual judgement can be passed only when we know the exact price and the official configurations of the device. For now, the battery is really good in this device. Also, the device uses dedicated SD card slot, which is missing in most of the devices these days.
