Intelligence and Awareness Briefings

Over the years it has become apparent that the weakest link in intelligence and awareness scenarios is the final briefings for decision makers, be they Generals, Doctors or CEO's. Collection is easy, analysis is improving, but the briefings are stuck back in the Stone Age. Even with digital displays most OSINT intelligence ends up as lists and lists of text, akin to the Gutenberg Bible.

The latest effective intelligence briefings have a look usually found in video games, or Hollywood. They take complex scenarios and display them as animated graphical representations, easy to understand, and easy to follow. Driven by sophisticated, yet simple intelligence engines they are the wave of the future. Call me for details and access to examples.

Corporate Intelligence Briefings

The dynamic representation of tens of thousands, even millions of articles, pieces of information, and communications has come a long way since the pie charts, and lists of links in the earlier generations of intelligence analysis and visualization programs. We use News Patters to drive our technology centers, and so should you.

Many of the software packages proliferating the shelves of the business and competitive intelligence community resemble more a Picasso or circuit drawing of a microchip than a clear presentation of the facts. Many popular OSINT programs are, well just plain messy and confusing.

The Intelligence Briefing is probably the most important link in the intelligence process for management. Hundreds of out of work competitive intelligence professionals are wondering why their value was so misunderstood. They were misled by the flawed statements that they should be more like "Lucy Librarian" than "James Bond". Both corporations and governments need to address the failings of their intelligence briefings before the next disaster.
