The Intelligence Forum is now on LinkedIn

IntelForum has been meeting in Washington, DC and listening to speakers from the Intelligence world since 2000.

Today you can have an ongoing discussion, or just meet some of the over 100 members on LinkedIn. From March 2009 the Intel sites will be reorganized, and linked to enable more discussion, and more announcements of new products, conferences and exhibitions.

We welcome papers and insights for inclusion on this updated site.

The Future - Virtual CI

You don't have to break the bank to know what your competitors or the marketplace are doing.

The large Open Source Intelligence companies have sophisticated 24 hour intelligence gathering operations costing tens of millions of dollars.

Smaller companies can now develop a tailor made resource by subscribing to a Virtual Competitive Intelligence Assistant.

Communication Links, Inc. has a team of geographically diverse research assistants to meet the urgent needs of corporations facing an uncertain world. They can develop a report, regular briefings, or investigate for a specific project or need.

Call for more details.

Intelligence Briefings

We have begun another comprehensive review of all the intel software packages available. As more and more companies, professional organizations and government agencies start their own Open Source or classified intelligence centers, and departments the choice of software becomes of vital importance.

The interface between the collectors, analysts and audience has to be carefully considered when choosing the right suite, or mix of programs. Remember just because the government, CIA or NSA uses the software does not make it a success. They fail more often than they succeed. That option just isn't there for commercial enterprises.

The total failures of the many companies in the Financial Sector should be a wake up call for everyone to examine their intelligence departments, and ask why they were not watching the marketplace.
